Self Storage Questions, Answered

Access, payments, security, insurance and unit sizes — the questions we are asked most often at our US-67 facility in southern Saline County.

What are your gate hours?

Our gate is open to tenants 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Your access code works whenever you need it, so you are never waiting for the office to open to reach your own belongings. The office hours listed on our contact page are simply the hours you can reach a person by phone or in person.

Do I have to sign a long-term lease?

No. All of our units are rented month to month. You can stay for a single month or for several years, and you are not locked into an annual contract. Storage needs rarely arrive on a twelve-month schedule, so it did not make sense to us to price them that way.

How do I rent a unit?

Everything can be done online. Choose an available unit on our storage units page, complete the rental through Cubby's secure checkout, and you will receive your gate code and unit number. Most people finish in under ten minutes and move in the same day. If you would rather talk it through, call us at (501) 604-8333 during office hours.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit and debit card payments. Rent is handled online through your tenant portal, where you can also set up automatic payments so you are not remembering a due date every month.

Do I need to bring my own lock?

No. A lock and keys are included when you move in, so there is no hardware store run before you can secure your unit. You are welcome to use your own lock instead if you would prefer — just make sure it fits a standard roll-up door latch.

Are your units drive-up?

Yes. Every unit at Saline Self Storage is at ground level with a roll-up door you can back a vehicle or trailer up to. There are no stairs, lifts, or long carries down a corridor, which makes a real difference when you are moving appliances or furniture on your own.

Can I store a car, boat or trailer?

Larger units can accommodate a vehicle, a small boat, or a trailer — a 10×20 is roughly the size of a one-car garage and a 10×30 is larger again. Anything stored inside a unit needs to fit fully within it. Give us a call with the dimensions of what you are storing and we will tell you honestly whether it will fit.

What am I not allowed to store?

Nothing hazardous, flammable, explosive or toxic — that includes gasoline, propane tanks, paint, chemicals and fireworks. No perishable food, no living things, and nothing illegal. Beyond that, if an item would be damaged by heat or humidity, think carefully before storing it in a drive-up unit.

What security do you have?

The property is secured behind a coded electronic gate, so only current tenants with an active code can enter. The site is covered by video surveillance and kept well lit, which matters most for the evening and early morning visits people actually make. Each tenant locks their own unit and keeps the only key.

Can I change to a different unit size later?

Yes. If your needs change you can transfer to a different size based on availability. Contact us and we will sort out the move — it is a common request, particularly from people who guessed small at the start of a move and found out otherwise halfway through.

Do I need insurance on my stored belongings?

A storage facility insures its buildings, not the contents of your unit, so cover for your own goods is worth having. We offer tenant protection through SafeLease, which you can add during checkout. Some homeowner's and renter's policies also extend limited cover to belongings kept off the premises — it is worth a quick call to your insurer to check the limit before you decide.

How do I get started?

Check what is available on our storage units page and reserve online, or call us at (501) 604-8333 during office hours. If you are not sure what size you need, the storage size guide compares every unit we offer against what actually fits inside it.
